Happy Halloween!

It’s the last week of October—almost time for Halloween. I know this because when shopping in Omaha yesterday I enjoyed watching dozens of tiny princesses and, oddly enough, what I’m fairly sure were some kind of Game of Thrones characters. Not sure. They had fur vests and hammers. Shrug.

Regardless, I promised one free short story per week in October and this is the last one.

I love this story. I’ve been working on it for a couple of years. The characters in this spooky tale are created from dear friends in my writing group. I know a lot of characters, but the women in my writing group have my back like no other and they’ve proved it over and over again.

So, enjoy the final free story in my Letting the Scary Things Out series.

  1. Yea! I’m glad you had the links to the other ones since I missed your last posts since I was out of town without internet (which was nice in a way to not have anything to do with technology–a forced techno-fast…except for missing your scary tales).

  2. Old school buildings are spooky places to be. Come with Goodwill is a story that all of us can relate to. I will never walk into a science room again without wondering, is this place full of dark and scary things?

We don’t even get trick or treaters in the country. Odd though… we always buy candy anyway. Just in case, you know!

      • Same with us. The 13 years we’ve lived in Ohio, we’ve never had a trick-or-treater once. And we live in town! But we’re on a high-traffic road with no side walks. But I still buy candy…
